LPNJ'S SECOND ANNUAL GALA

LPNJ's  first gala took place on Thursday, October 22, 2009.  Our second annual gala will take place on October 21, 2010.

This year the gala will again take place at the Heldrich Hotel in New Brunswick.
Last year, “Celebrating Literacy” Gala was held at the Heldrich Hotel in New Brunswick and we were very excited to have Jean Holtz, Vice President, Communications and Operations of New Brunswick Development Corporation, as our 2009 Gala Honoree.

This year will be another enjoyable, fun-filled evening with food, music and an incredible silent auction.

Last year's Honoree, Jean Holtz, says it best:

"As most of you know, I value quality education for all as an essential element for strong communities.  Therefore it was troubling for me to learn that New Jersey ties for the sixth-worst illiteracy rate in the nation - a shocking 17%.  There are for too many adults in our state who cannot do what you are doing right now: reading.  That is why I am helping a terrific nonprofit literacy organization to raise funds to improve that record.  Literacy Programs of New Jersey (LPNJ) gives older learners the opportunity to acquire the necessary basic skills in reading, speaking and writing English so they can more fully participate in the activities of daily life.

For further information about LPNJ's second annual "Celebrating Literacy" Gala, including sponsorship and journal opportunities, please call Maria Nelson at 732-432-8000.
